Ueshiba, Morihei (2020)
The activities and operating environment of the organisation must be actively monitored and examined,
and where necessary, development paths must be created and reforms must be implemented. Reforms
of the activities often affect the information management of authorities and, in order to implement these
reforms, information management must be reformed, too. The requirement of the Information Management
Act to assess the transformative impacts of information management strengthens the anticipation of the
economic and operational risks in changing circumstances, and the effectiveness of the efforts to bring about
changes. In addition, the aim is to promote interoperability and information security, as well as the profitability
of investments. The efforts to bring about changes in information management are a part of the proper
management of the Information Management Unit.
This is a recommendation issued by the Information Management Board on the implementation of the
assessment of the transformative impact of information management laid down in the Information
Management Act. The aim of this recommendation is to support the authorities applying the law in preparing
the assessment.
This recommendation was adopted by the Information Management Board on 6 May 2020.
